Vacation Programme

During most of the Fasnacht, Spring, Summer and October Primary School holidays, we offer a range of exciting Vacation Programme weeks open to all primary school children. This usually runs from Monday to Friday and each week is based on a theme.

Vacation Programme - Summer 2023

We are offering an exciting vacation programme this Summer (3rd – 28th July 2023)!

Our Vacation Programme is open to non-ELA Basel students (up to age 12) and Alumni (up to age 14) as well. The programme will be open from 07:30 to 18:00 each day. Resources, entrance fees, outings, snacks and lunch are all included.

Places are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. Don't miss the opportunity of joining our fantastic programme! Register by the 16th June 2023.

Summer 2023 Vacation Programme Terms and conditions

The children must arrive at Gartenstrasse 93 each morning by 8:30 and bring along a backpack, appropriate clothing and shoes, water bottle and sun cream every day throughout the whole Summer Vacation Programme.
Children may be dropped at school from 7:30 onwards and will be supervised until the programme activities start.
Pick-up may be at 15:30 on Monday to Thursday, 14:00 on Friday, or between 17:00 and 18:00. Please indicate
on the registration form which time you will be collecting your child, or when you child can leave the school grounds independently. We are able to cater to student dietary requirements. Please ensure that these are completed on the registration form.
Snacks and lunches are always provided as part of the Vacation Programme fee.
You will receive an invoice for the Vacation Programme. Please note that the place is not confirmed until the invoice is paid.
Please note that spaces for the programme are limited and will be given on a first-come first-served basis as
signed contracts are returned. Once places are filled, a waitlist will be created.
There are no refunds for missed sessions or reductions for sessions not attended.
ELA Basel reserves the right to adapt the programme if circumstances dictate this is necessary.

Summer 2023 - Vacation Programme Week 1 - Sports Week

Sports week is perfect for all the children who want to be active and have fun playing sports! The plan will include time spent each day at the Allschwil Sportscenter, playing many different sports.

Summer 2023 - Vacation Programme Week 2 - German Week

A fun filled week based on German fairytales. We will explore a magical castle, create fairytale themed crafts, read lots of stories and even have a go at a fairytale treasure hunt, all the while speaking as much German as we can!

Summer 2023 - Vacation Programme Week 3 - Safari Week

This week's vacation programme will have a safari theme and will involve the children making all kinds of safari themed crafts, whilst exploring the wonderful world of Basel Zoo, looking at all the kinds of animals they have and learning all about them.

Summer 2023 - Vacation Programme Week 4 - Arts and Crafts week (ages 4 - 6)

For Week 4, the younger children (ages 4-6) will be doing a plethora of different arts and craft activities, including kaleidoscopic collage, craft stick barns, pastel scribbles, paper roll koala bears, leaf pattern drawings and much more.
All children enrolled this week will be enjoying the outdoors in the various parks around Basel each afternoon.
