Performing Arts and Music
All the world's a stage!
At ELA Basel we understand that learning and personal and social development takes many different shapes and forms. Our children have the opportunity to grow in confidence by performing before an audience from the earliest age through to the end of Year 7. Concerts, family assemblies, presentations and of course the well-loved annual Scala Theatre Production all offer children the opportunity to perform together and shine!
Music is an integral part of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum with specialist music teachers introducing the children to percussion, singing and guitar in weekly lessons. Later the children in Reception and Year 1 learn the recorder. From Year 2 all children learn the keyboard. Children are encouraged to perform in weekly assemblies and on other occasions including singing for senior citizens at Christmas time. Music and the performing arts are also offered in both the after-school and vacation programmes including dedicated drama weeks.
Private Music Lessons
ELA Basel offers private, one-to-one music lessons with qualified teachers in piano, violin, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, voice and drums. These personalised sessions provide ELA Basel students and non-ELA Basel students with focused guidance, helping them to progress at their own pace.
Learning a musical instrument supports cognitive development, improves concentration, and fosters creativity and self-expression. It also builds confidence and encourages discipline, while offering a rewarding outlet for emotional expression. Whether your child is a beginner or more advanced, our music programme nurtures a lifelong appreciation and love of music.
Give your child the gift of music and the many benefits it brings to learning and life.
