Care and well being
Parents tell us that their children thrive at ELA Basel. The combination of a rigorous and creative curriculum, small class sizes and dedicated and highly qualified staff create the ideal environment for children to feel supported and empowered in their learning. Above all, the children enjoy coming to school each day and, as we all know, happy children make the best learners.
Safeguarding and Child Protection Statement
ELA Basel is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of Safeguarding and Child Protection. As such our first priority is the safety, welfare and well-being of children and we expect all members of our community to share in this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo rigorous child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks, written and verbal, with past employers. Applicants must also provide, at the time of their application, original documentary evidence of satisfactory police checks for all countries of residence for the previous ten years.
All serving employees, volunteers and Board members are also required to undergo accredited Safeguarding and Child Protection training. Every three years all staff sign a self-declaration form and complete an enhanced Swiss Police Check as part of our licensing agreement with Canton Basel-Stadt. Lastly when applying for an advertised post, all applicants must complete an ELA Basel application form, explaining any gaps in employment in full in order to be considered.
Our mission is to value, care for and educate 'the whole child' by providing a well-rounded education that offers each individual child unique opportunities for academic, social and emotional growth. An ELA Basel education provides an essential foundation for the secondary school years and beyond. An ELA Basel education is for life!
